Schneider Electric has appointed company veteran Esther Finidori as its new Chief Sustainability Officer, effective June 1, marking the second person to hold the key environmental post in 2025. The move follows the departure of Chris Leong, who had a brief six-month tenure.
Swift succession: Leong has already moved to Ecolab, taking on the role of executive vice president and chief marketing and innovation officer. The quick change at Schneider reveals the vital role of sustainability leadership within major corporations.
Veteran at the helm: Finidori is a long-time Schneider employee, having joined in 2016, and brings considerable experience to the CSO position, according to her LinkedIn profile. Her roles have included director of supply chain sustainability and CO2 strategy, VP of global environmental strategy, and most recently, VP of strategy for Schneider’s French operations.
Driving the agenda: As the new CSO, Finidori will join Schneider Electric’s executive committee. The company stated in its June 5 announcement that her inclusion will help “effectively develop and deploy the new sustainability strategy” to boost its business relevance and leadership in environmental practices. This comes as Schneider continues to highlight its green achievements, such as its Science Based Targets initiative-validated goal to cut key operational emissions by 76% by 2030.
